New Toggle Tones Down iOS 26’s Shiny Design

With the launch of iOS 26.1, Apple is giving users more control over the interface redesign known as Liquid Glass. A new toggle allows you to switch from the super-transparent “glass” look to a more opaque version, improving readability and reducing visual strain.
📌 What You Need to Know
The new setting is found at Settings → Display & Brightness → Liquid Glass on iPhone (and similar path on iPad/Mac).
There are two modes:
Clear: The original ultra-transparent effect.
Tinted: A more opaque, higher-contrast interface to make text and UI elements easier to read.
The toggle complements existing Accessibility options like Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast which still work to improve readability broadly.
The change responds directly to user feedback about readability issues and the very “glassy” look of Liquid Glass in iOS 26.

By letting users dial back the “Liquid Glass” effect, Apple is acknowledging that aesthetics must also serve usability — especially for those who found the new look difficult to read or distracting. Alexa+ Amazon’s upgraded AI assistant powered by generative AI—has officially been integrated into the Amazon Music app for iOS and Android. Available now in Early Access for users across all subscription tiers, Alexa+ promises a more conversational way to discover, explore, and engage with music.
📌 What You Need to Know
Alexa+ is embedded into Amazon Music via a dedicated “a” button in the app, allowing users to ask natural-language queries such as identifying a song from a few lyrics, requesting a playlist by mood or era, or diving into deeper musical insights like samples and song meanings.
The feature is available across all Amazon Music tiers (free and paid), but only to users enrolled in Alexa+ Early Access as of now. General rollout is expected later.
Amazon says early testers of Alexa+ in the Music app are spending 3× more time exploring songs and listening to 70% more music overall compared to using the standard assistant.
Alexa+ was first announced in February 2025 as Amazon’s next-gen AI assistant, built to extend far beyond mere voice commands into full conversational actions and tasks.
